About Us
Founded by Chris and Nicole, NC Performance Horses was born from a lifelong passion for horses and a shared dedication to excellence in horsemanship. With over 30 years of combined experience in horse breaking, training, and educating horses across NSW, we’ve built our program on trust, respect, and proven results.
Nicole, a seasoned barrel racer, grew up with horses as part of everyday life. Her father, Keith, trained and raced thoroughbreds, sparking her passion for horses from an early age. She later turned her focus to Quarter Horses, drawn to their strength, intelligence, and athletic ability — traits that shine both around the barrel pattern and when working cattle. Nicole’s ability to read a horse, maintain perfect balance in the saddle, and bring out their best performance is second to none, making her an invaluable part of every horse’s journey at NC Performance Horses.
Chris has always had a natural love for horses, beginning from a young age, but rediscovered his passion when he met Nicole. With strong family ties to the horse industry — including an uncle who works as a farrier for some of the top studs in Ireland, another with Kildangan Stud in Kildare, and another with Coolmore Stud — Chris brings a wealth of insight into stallion handling, breeding, and horsemanship. His calm but firm approach, paired with his attention to detail and drive for perfection, has earned him a reputation for excellence in groundwork and developing respect and trust from horses.
Together, we bring experience, care, and a genuine love for what we do. Our shared goal is to develop honest, reliable, and talented horses, giving each one the best start possible — from young prospects to seasoned performers.
